About

I’m your regular, run-of-the-mill, proudly Canadian mom of two (a boy and a girl).  I’m a clinical psychologist by trade and run a busy practice in Burlington, Ontario.  I love the work I do and it also allows me to set my schedule so that I can pick up my children a few days a week from school, as well as pursue all the million hobbies that fascinate me.  I think it’s pretty much impossible as a mother not to feel guilty and feel like you’re failing (whether you’re working or staying at home, or doing both), but I set my sights on balance and self-compassion as much as I can.  It’s definitely a work in progress!

I started this blog because I’m a self-professed hobby fanatic and I thought that there must be others out there like me who would enjoy a site full of how-tos on a whole bunch of topics.  I have a very curious mind that is always asking the question, “I wonder if I can do that?” and I usually try to answer that question by giving it a shot.  I figured I could curate my discoveries as I go along in case one ends up peaking your interest.  And who knows?  If you like that one, maybe one of the other posts (likely on something entirely different) might be enticing as well.  I also love to read blogs but they seem to be all based in the U.S., which makes trying to find any items they talk about or recommend often challenging in Canada.  So this blog will be Canadian focused.  Any products or materials I talk about will by things you can get here in Canada without too much effort or expense.

So glad to have you join me!
